A gynecologic oncologist and public health leader whose career connects national cancer policy, academic research and practical HPV screening.
Led Türkiye's Cancer Department and helped shape the country's national HPV DNA screening program. A national analysis covering 4,099,230 women produced large-scale evidence on how molecular screening performs in a public health system.
Building on this experience, he served as Principal Investigator of the 2020–2022 TÜBİTAK project to develop an HPV genotyping kit. The project established CarciScan, a real-time PCR solution manufactured by eDNA Teknoloji in Türkiye.
Professor Gültekin later co-designed a CarciScan self-sampling study protocol in Ghana, supporting its methodology and equipment planning. The 1,000-participant study was designed to assess implementation in a resource-limited setting.
Malaya United Trading Inc. is developing an integrated Philippine screening pathway around CarciScan, connecting decentralized sample collection, partner-laboratory PCR testing, digital result delivery and structured follow-up. Professor Gültekin's experience bridges national policy, molecular diagnostics and real-world implementation.
Professor Gültekin continues to teach and present at international HPV and colposcopy courses — the same clinical community whose screening experience shaped CarciScan.
